You’re Not Getting Your Minilogue Back

Dear Stephen,
I regret to inform you that you will not be getting your Minilogue XD back.

Those dreamy, drifting VCOs have ruined me.

Also, I am now dual-wielding Peak and XD, and have become more powerful than you can possibly imagine. My midi controller plays them both simultaneously as two layers.

12 stacked voices on a single lead sound? Well, that’s dangerously thick. That’s a level of thickness that’s illegal in 13 states. That’s thicker than the burgers depicted in television advertisements. That’s a level of thickness that rappers dream of finding in the clurb, but ultimately never find.

Really, this is on you. You lend a synth to Kleptish, you’re going to get burned.

If you wish to get your precious Minilogue back, you will need to battle me for it. You may set the terms.

Your obedient servant,
Ethan / Kleptish

Love Story – Taylor Swift Synth Cover

Here’s the result of my first night crossing the streams. The rhythm synth and the lead synth were both stacked Peak + XD, live, with Force as the sequencer + audio interface. Brought it into Reason afterwards to toss some placeholder drum loops in and sprinkle some sidechain compression in at 1:10.

The tune is Taylor Swift’s Love Story, which often comes out when I’m noodling. Also, some Maroon 5 snuck in there, since the synth version of 4 Chords is brewing in my veins.
