Can I pull MIDI timing from an audio recording?

Hey, man, I just had this idea and I figured reason might have this capability. So I kept getting it one of the challenges. I’m having with music production. I like you’ve heard in the pieces. I write on a piano that I tend to kind of change the tempo throughout the song a bit. Like I don’t stick to a very consistent meter and I really like that kind of, you know, swing and flexibility and electronic instruments. Like I cant really do that very well. And so I’m wondering is there some capability and reasons where I could take an audio recording of me playing acoustic piano and then reason analyzes that and pulls out like basically converted into midi pulls out all the the changes in Tempo and timing and all that so that I could then spit that many file out to my various electronic things and have them actually match the kind of Swing tempo of the acoustic, please adoption

Great question. So I will I will caveat that, you know just a little bit on the edge of what I may or may not know so Im you know, definitely feel free to do your own research around a reason or other tooling. So Ive handed out of the box does specifically what youre talking about. I specifically around you no identifying. Whats it? Polyphonic, you know converting polyphonic piano playing into midi. Im just saying that out of a surprise out of the box and reason it does seem like something that would be common enough in the world where theres probably some tooling around that if you wanted to look into that and reason can definitely convert monophonic sounds to MIDI theres ways of doing that so I can I can If thats helpful in a let me know and I can try to find you some resources. So I suppose suppose you do find a way to get you know, a piano piece into midi at that point or even honestly if its in audio there are ways of a you know, automating reasons Tempo to conform to audio that is not synced up and then after doing that theres I think theres a way of like sort of forcing via satellite radio scratch that piece of audio or midi to conform to a uniform beat if that is desired. So thats a little map of what is available. Im those fronts. Also wanted to point you towards me at the latest version of Ableton 11 released in the last couple months and I did come with that pretty impressive Tempo follow feature. So I feel like Ive seen they have some pretty cool. Demo. Is it happening with a live drummer and you effectively get you give Ableton a signal of State like a snare drum or something and then Ableton like snare drum, that is Mike and then its a table tennis table to follow follow the tempo from there. So yeah, that is a cool thing. Let me know if you have any follow-up questions and have a good day.
